TORONTO – Rhe Marlies and St John’s IceCaps faced off at Air Canada Centre for the Marlies annual Boxing Day Classic where the Marlies defeated the IceCaps 5-2.
Rinat Valiev registered his second multi-point game of the season, assisting on both Marlies goals in the second.
TJ Brennan had an assist and leads all AHL defencemen with 27 points through 30 games this season.
Scott Harrington recorded his first goal as a Marlie, the eventual game-winning goal. With the victory the team is now on a 10 game point streak, collecting 19 of a possible 20 points during that span.
The win over the IceCaps improves the Marlies Boxing Day record to 6-2-1-0.
