MOLINE, Ill. – Kevin Carr made 18 saves and Brandon Wong scored the only goal as the Tulsa Oilers spoiled the Quad City Mallards’ home opener by blanking the Mallards 1-0 Friday evening.
The Oilers were on the power play when Wong swept the puck home from the slot at 6:38 of the second period. At the other end, the Oilers limited the Mallards to just five shots on goal in each of the final two periods.
Also Friday, forward Pearce Eviston left the Mallards for personal reasons and was placed on the team’s suspended list.
