MELBOURNE, Australia – The Melbourne Ice hosted their local rivals, Melbourne Mustangs on Sunday.
The Ice ended much of the suspense of the game with a three-goal first period as they
handed the Mustangs a 7-2 loss.
Both Mustangs goals came on the power play; they were 2-for-8 with the man advantage.
Lasse Lassen had a trick in the win and Joseph Hughes added two goals in the win.
Ryan Ruddle and Jamie Bourke scored for the Mustangs.
Chris Slauenwhite took the loss, giving up four goals on 12 shots. Fraser Carson relieved his early I the second period.
Troy Davenport picked up the win on 16 saves.
