The Australian Ice Hockey League hosted the Goodall Cup Championship finals this weekend.
The second semi featured the regular season champions, Melbourne Ice, facing off against the Canberra Brave.
As with the first game in the semis, this one ended in overtime as well and the Ice’s hearts were broken in overtime when Jan Safar scored for the Brave at 11:13 to send Canberra on to the Goodall Cup Final with a 4-3 win.
Safar had opened the scoring in regulation in the first period on the power play.
Lasse Lassen scored twice for the Ice in regulation and Joseph Hughes added a goal in the second period.
Georgie Wudrick scored two goals for the Brave to support Safar’s opening marker.
