PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Hurricanes at Sharks Sharks comeback to win in OT

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Sharks (15-10-0-2) made a huge come from behind win in overtime against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes (11-10-0-6) with a final score of 5-4.  After the first period, Carolina lead 3-0, with a pair a goals from Sebastian Aho and one from Victor Rask.

Melker Karlsson and Joe Thornton put the Sharks on the board in the second, while Jeff Skinner kept the Hurricane lead at 4-2 at the buzzer.  Skinner’s goal would be their final for the night, as Logan Couture and Barclay Goodrow would bring the Sharks even with the Hurricanes with about eight minutes remaining.

Then it was Brent Burns 22 seconds into the overtime period, when his pass from Joe Pavelski beat Cam Ward in the net for the game winner.

Martin Jones had 21 saves in the win, while Ward made 28 saves for the loss.  The Sharks will host Ottawa on Saturday.
