CINCINNATI, Ohio – There were rumors of my demise since I hadn’t been seen since last April at U.S. Bank Arena. I admit to being on sick leave, and no I have not quit. So on to the show. The third place Cyclones put up a two goal lead on their I-74 rivals and never looked back. The hero of the 2008 Kelly Cup Championship for the Cyclones was in the building. Cedric Desjardains returned as the back up netminder for Indy.
The Cyclones scored the first goal and it was a lazer shot that hit the goalcam . The rest of the game Indy fought mightily to overcome the deficit. And to no avail. This was all the Cyclones Andy Iles (#1) needed to pull off the victory in net. The Cyclones middle and the game winner wiggled in on Shane Owen (#50) and one he seemed to want back. The skating was spirited by both squads as was the defensive play. Brett Wysopal(#8) of the Cyclones had a multi-point night and played a solid defense throughout the game. A two goal win over division rival scrapping for position in the Midwest division.
Indy D-man Ben Marshall caught my eye in a few shots. Meanwhile the Cyclones Steve Weinstein(#9) introduces Fuel F Dylan Clarke (#22) to the boards.
All in all a solid W for the home team at U.S. Bank Arena on this night.
