HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Havoc score the game’s first goal but see the lead slip away in a 4-1 loss to the Pensacola Ice Flyers Sunday at the Von Braun Center.
Huntsville kicked off the scoring for the fourth time this season against Pensacola with a power play goal in the first. Michael Piluso chipped the puck in deep forcing the goaltender to come out and play the puck. An errant clearing attempt went right to Lou Educate; who jammed it into the open net for his 20th of the season at 11:31 of the first.
But the one-goal lead was short-lived for the Havoc as Pensacola grabbed their first of the evening at 14:11 of the opening frame.
In the second, the Ice Flyers added pressure and saw their first and only lead of the night at 10:25. Huntsville tried clawing back with a few chances on the other side of the ice, but Scott Fellnermayr missed just inches away, hitting the cross-bar, in the late stages of the second.
In the third, Pensacola scooped up an interception in the Havoc zone and scored their third of the night just over three minutes into the frame. The Ice Flyers’ fourth and final goal of the night came just under two minutes left in regulation with an empty net in the Havoc zone.
