Wichita, KS (Jan. 10th) – Jonathan Carlsson scored with under eight minutes left in regulation to break a scoreless tie and helped Indy knock off Wichita on Tuesday night by the score of 1-0 at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Both netminders were brilliant in the first 40 minutes. Nathan Moon had a terrific chance in the first as he caught a pass at the top of the circles and found a lane to the net. Jake Hildebrand was able to get over and stop the shot to keep it scoreless.
Carlsson scored the game-winner at 12:46 as he carried the puck down the left wall and went right to the net. He found a loose puck during a net-mouth scramble for his second of the season. Wichita had a late power play that they were unsuccessful on. A couple of minutes later, Owsley went to the bench for the extra attacker. The Indy defense kept the puck to the outside and the Fuel held on for the win.
Wichita went 0-for-3 on the power play. Indy was 0-for-4 on the man advantage.
