KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan’s Griffen Molino, along with a host of freshman, took it to Colorado College this past weekend with a barrage of goals, snapping an agonizing losing streak in the process.
Friday night WMU broke an eight-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory over Colorado College. The steak was the team’s longest since the 1997-98 season.
All five freshmen in the Bronco lineup Friday scored at least one point. Left-winger Molino and Defenseman Oliwer Kaski each had their first career three-point games. Molino had one goal and two assists and Kaski had two goals and one assist. Freshman Colt Conrad had his first-career multi-goal game with two goals.
The rematch on Saturday was another huge night for Molino and WMU. Molino had a career-high four points with two goals and two assists as Western Michigan completed the weekend sweep of Colorado College after a 5-3 win on Saturday night at Lawson Ice Arena.
