PHILADELPHIA – Jakub Voracek had two goals and three points and Shayne Gostisbehere scored once and added two assists in the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday.
“I know what I’m capable of when I feel good,” Voracek said. “I feel strong in the skates, which is important for me.”
Wayne Simmonds, Brandon Manning and Matt Read also scored for the Flyers.
“Tonight was probably one of his better 60-minute performances,” Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. “I thought he played at a high level from start to finish tonight.”
Steve Mason had 27 saves in the win.
The Flyers scored four unanswered goals to rally for the win.
The Canes got goals from Justin Faulk, Jordan Staal and Lee Stempniak.
“They found a way to get in behind us and get some goals,” Staal said. “It wasn’t like they completely outplayed us. But they found a way to get the puck in.”
Up 2-0 the Hurricanes let the game slip away.
“On the bench, it was pretty impressive,” defenseman Mark Streit said. “We kept our cool. … When they scored that third goal at the end of the second, we just kept playing in the third, and it paid off.”
