PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Flyers picked up a 5-1 preseason win over the Boston Bruins Thursday night on home ice.
Five different skaters struck for goals.
A first period 2-0 lead put the Flyers on the right track when Travis Konecny and Jakub Voracek had the first two goals.
Brandon Manning scored in the middle frame for a 3-0 lead and Wayne Simmonds struck on the penalty kill in the second for a 4-0 advantage to the Flyers.
David Krejci had the lone goal for the Bruins early in the third.
Alex Lyon got the win for Philadelphia with 31.
Tuukka Rask was saddled with the loss on 14 saves off 18 shots but was pulled after the second intermission in favor of Malcolm Subban who made six saves in relief.
