PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Fayetteville boosted by Van Buskirk’s play in net, beats Huntsville 2-1

HUNTSVILLE, AL – A stellar performance between the pipes by Parker Van Buskirk helped the Fayetteville FireAntz defeat the Huntsville Havoc, 2-1.

Fayetteville was led by Josh McQuade, who registered one goal. McQuade scored on the power play 17:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Fayetteville. A hooking penalty on John McGinnis had put the FireAntz on the power play. Alex Brooks provided the assist.

Fayetteville’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Huntsville power plays.

Fayetteville also got a goal from Joseph Manno as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fayetteville were Kyle Gibbons and Chris Porter, who each chipped in one.

By firing 27 shots on goal, Huntsville exceeded the 23.8 shots it averages per game this year.

In addition, Huntsville received assists from Joshua Ranalli and Bennett Schneider, who contributed one each.

The FireAntz’s Van Buskirk stopped 26 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Fayetteville totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Ryan de Melo recorded 22 saves for the Havoc. Huntsville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
