COLUMBUS, GA – In their first season of competitive hockey the East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) Tigers are not to be trifled.
On Saturday, the Tigers of ETBU met the Auburn University Tigers in a match in Columbus and skated off with a 5-3 win, their seventh of the year.
The win completed a weekend sweep of Auburn after the Tigers of ETBU throttled Auburn, 8-3, on Friday night.
Auburn looked to be rebounding from the Friday night loss in game when they struck for two goals in the first period.
But ETBU responded with four goals in the middle frame to take the wind out of the Auburn sails.
Auburn closed to within 4-3 but an empty-net goal from the Tigers of Texas sealed the win.
