LOVELAND, Colo. – Current Kelly Cup Champion, Colorado Eagles, kicked off their 2017-2018 ECHL Seasons against the Utah Grizzlies on Friday, Oct 13, 2017, at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland Co.
In a tight contest against two division rivals, Colorado was victorious in a 3 to 2 game featuring two goals from Michael Joly for the home team and an unlikely fight between Grizzly tough guy James Melindy 6’3″ and 5’10” Eagles forward Joey Ratelle.

The Kelly Cup Banner for the Champion Colorado Eagles was raised to the Rafters of the Budweiser Event Center
Game two of the home and home series with The Utah Grizzlies on Saturday night also resulted in an Eagles win with brothers Drayson and Colin Bowman each scoring a goal for the Eagles. Taylor Richart contributed the lone goal for the Grizzlies in the 2 to 1 Eagles victory.
Colorado faces the Norfolk Admirals next weekend with two games – Friday night Oct. 20th and Saturday night Oct. 21st at the Budweiser Event Center in Loveland, Colorado.
Game times for both games is 7:05 P.M. MST.
