CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Cyclones (3-5-0-0) collected a 4-3 win over the Ft. Wayne Komets on Wednesday night. Forwards Dominic Zombo, Nick Huard, and Andrew Yogan, along with defenseman Eric Knodel tallied the goals for the Cyclones, who pick up their second home win of the season.

The Cyclones took an early 1-0 lead in this one, when a pass from forward Kenny Ryan found Zombo in the neutral zone, and he skated over the right wing blue line and snapped a wrister off the crossbar and in past Komets netminder Eric Hartzell, 5:17 into the first.

That momentum was short lived as roughly six minutes later, Ft. Wayne got goals from forward Garrett Thompson and defenseman Bobby Shea 1:16 apart to give the Komets a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second, Cincinnati got their first power play tally of the season when a shot from defenseman Jonathan Diaby was turned aside by Hartzell, but Huard was out front and stuffed in the rebound to tie the game, 2-2, 8:09 into the middle frame.

The Cyclones regained the lead a couple of minutes later when Knodel skated to the point after a pass from forward Jordan Sims and blasted a slapshot past Hartzell on a delayed penalty to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.

The Cyclones were not done, and with a little less than five minutes remaining in the second, Huard took a shot on goal that bounced off of Hartzell right to Yogan who was on the left side of the net and he flipped it into the cage to give the Cyclones a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Komets pulled to within a goal midway through the third when forward Gabriel Desjardins lit the lamp to bring the score to 4-3 in favor of the Cyclones, however that was all the offense Ft. Wayne was able to muster as Cincinnati held on for the 4-3 win.

The Cyclones outshot Ft. Wayne, 24-22 on the night, with netminder Mark Visentin turning aside 19 to collect the win.
