PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Colorado Eagles Vs. Rapid City Rush

LOVELAND, Colo. –  A rare Sunday Afternoon game in the ECHL gave the Colorado Eagles and the Rapid City Rush plenty of time to say goodbye to their longstanding rivalry. This was the last meeting ever between the Eagles and Rush as the Colorado Eagles will be moving up to to the AHL beginning in the 2018 – 2019 season.

As it happened this was also designated as Faith and Family day by the Eagles and included baby races in between periods and a very tasteful Center Ice prayer led by injured Colorado Defenseman, Colin Bowman.

In addition to the Faith and Family aspect of the game, as is often the case with such an intense rivalry, Colorado and Rapid City added  “Fighting” to the day’s theme with a total of 12 fighting majors included in 106 minutes of penalty time on 27 infractions.

Ater scoring first in the game Rapid City saw the Eagles score six unanswered goals for the final 6 to 1 victory for the home team. There was a lot of action and an almost goalie fight to go with all the other on-ice entertainment in this Sunday Matinee.
