LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles and Idaho Steelheads weekend series to close out the home portion of the Eagles regular season was a sweep for the home team and not only insured the team’s eligibility for the playoffs but allowed the Eagles to leap frog the Steelheads into first place in the West Division of the Western Conference.
Game one on Friday night was a much tougher victory for the Eagles as they had to battle back from a 4 to 1 deficit in the third period to take the 5 to 4 win in overtime.
Saturday night’s rematch was only as close as the 1 to 1 tie at the end of period one. It was all Eagles all the time for the remainder of the game with Jesse Mychan leading the way with 2 goals and an assist in the 5 to 1 domination of the Steelheads.
Colorado has a final three game road trip to take on the Alaska Aces Wednesday, April 6th, Friday, April 8th, and Saturday April 9th, at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska. All three games will played at 9:15 P.M. local Colorado time.
