SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Washington Capitals regained the number one position in the Metropolitan Division with a 2-0 shutout over the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center earlier today.

Goals from Nicklas Backstrom in the second period and Lars Eller in the third gave the Capitals the shut out win.
