PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Berkshire ends Danville win streak at eleven

PHN_BSOG-200x133DANVILLE, IL – On Sunday, February 15, the Danville Dashers were looking to extend their winning streak to twelve games. Unfortunately the Dashers surrendered five goals to the Berkshire Battalion in the first seven minutes and fell by a final score of 8-5.

Robert Morton, Vadim Guskov, Dmitry Antipin and Michael Kaselouskas (two goals) all scored in the first seven minutes of the game. The Dashers did get two quick goals at the end of the period. The first came off the stick of Jonathon Juliano off a rebound of an Alex Milley slapshot. The second Dashers goal came from Andrew Harrison on the power play. The Dashers trailed 5-2 at the end of the first but carried all the momentum into the second period.

The Dashers picked up right where they left off in the first at the start of the second period, scoring two quick goals to cut the Battalion lead to a goal. Gehrett Sargis and Justin Brausen picked up the goals that got Danville back in the game.

The Battalion gained back one of those goals on the power play off the stick of Tom Tracy. However, Harrison got that score right back and the Dashers trailed by just one goal going into the third period.

In the third, the Dashers found themselves with a few memorable chances that they would love to have back. One of the opportunities came on a three-on-one break where Robert Bowden made an incredible glove save on Daniel Turgeon.

With the strong goaltending of Bowden, the Battalion held strong down the stretch and picked up two empty net goals to produce the final score.

The Dashers will look to start another win streak next Friday in Dayton before coming home to host the Demonz on Saturday and Sunday.
