After a Saturday night off The Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees set off for a 5.15 face off in Gillingham against the Invicta Dynamos

Bees iced without Josh Smith, Shaun Thompson and Vanya Antonov as Deana Cuglietta took charge of the game with Amy Lack and Phil O’Neill on the lines.

Before a second had even elapsed Invicta hit penalty trouble with a 10 minute misconduct awarded to Allen and after 102 seconds Colvin took an interference penalty which gave rise to the first goal as Edward Knaggs finished from Ryan Watt and Roman Malinik at 2.41. Bees killed a penalty before a squaring up between Ryan Watt and Harrison Lills. Invicta levelled the game at 15.40 through Ryan Giles but a second Bees powerplay goal ensured the had the lead by the interval with Brendan Baird converting the advantage at 17.52.

Bees Josh Martin picked up a couple of penalties in the first half of the middle period but at 31.48 Aidan Doughty made it 1-3. Invicta then hit further penalty trouble with a procession of calls made which eventually resulted in David Millner scoring his first for the Bees on the powerplay at 37.56 and the second period ended 1-4.

The shortbenched Bees enjoyed a good start to the third as Scott Spearing returned from a second period penalty and immediately scored on the breakaway at 41.56 with an assist to Danny Milton. It would be Zack Milton who scored the final goal of the night with 5.59 remaining combining with Doughty and Malinik to settle the score at 1-6.
