PHN’s Best shots of the Game: Bees sneak past Phantoms for 4-3 win

TSI World Bracknell Bees 4 Peterborough Phantoms 3

The game got off to a less than ideal start for the home team when the Phantoms were two goals up within 7.10 thanks to goals from Corey McEwen (2.37) and Will Weldon (7.10). But despite the shaky start the Bees fought back into the game and a powerplay goal from Josh Ealey-Newman at 17.21 sent the team to the first period interval just down a single goal.

Chances came at both ends of the ice in the second period but Dominic Gabaj fed Josh Smith to strike at 35.20 to level up the game and with 53 seconds left in the period Ealey-Newman scored his second to send the home team in a goal up.

Will Weldon equalised with 8.49 remaining in the game setting up a tense finish but Ryan Webb netted the game winner at 56.41 on the powerplay. The end wasn’t without drama though as a too many men penalty against the Bees with 122 seconds left to play gave the Phantoms a huge powerplay but with 6 seconds left in the game the powerplay came to an end when James Ferrara took an unsportsman like conduct penalty and Bees closed out the win.
