Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans completed the sweep of the Mavericks with a 3-1 win on Sunday afternoon, in front of a crowd of 3,475 at Allen Event Center.
The Americans picked up goals from Rylan Schwartz (5), Ian Schultz (14), and and an empty net goal from Jack Combs (22). With the goal from Combs, he is now tied again with Tulsa’s Adam Pleskach for the league lead.
Missouri’s lone goal came in the third period when Patch Alber, fired one home from the right wing boards that found it’s way past Riley Gill. Gill stopped 39 of 40 Missouri shots to earn his third win over the Mavericks this week.
Tyler Barr, made his Allen debut finishing the day a minus one, with two penalty minutes. The free agent forward was signed to a contract today via Louisiana of SPHL.
The Mavericks outshot the Americans by a 40-37 count for the game. Both teams were 0-4 on the power play. The Americans next home games are Friday and Saturday night against the Wichita Thunder.
