ALLEN, Texas – The Allen Americans dropped their seventh straight home game on Tuesday night, falling to the Wichita Thunder, 5-4 in overtime at Allen Event Center.
Kirill Tulupov, fired home the game winner in overtime lifting Wichita to victory. Allen picked up one point, and is now just a point away from clinching a playoff in the ECHL Central Division.
Chad Costello had two points in the loss for Allen, picking up his 99th and 100th points of the season. Costello scored his 33rd goal of the year to reach the milestone. Gary Steffes scored his 42nd goal of the season in defeat.
“We have to be better at killing penalty’s, said Americans forward Chad Costello following the loss. “We are missing two of top penalty killers in Jesse Messier and Brian McMillin so the rest of us need to pick it up.”
