ALLEN, Texas – The Allen Americans dropped their fourth straight game on Sunday, losing to the Tulsa Oilers by a score of 4-3 at Allen Event Center.
Brady Ramsey’s shorthanded goal, late in the third period, turned out to be the game winner for the Oilers who swept the weekend series and won the season series from the Americans.
“We dug ourselves an early hole and were unable to fight all the way back,” said Americans forward J.P. Lafontaine. “We outscored them 2-1 in the second period and had our chance in third, but unfortunately the shorthanded goal was at a bad time and pretty much sealed our fate.”
Chad Costello extended his point streak to 12 games with an assist on Casey Pierro-Zabotel’s 14th of the season, and also extended his assist streak to a season-high 12 games.
The Americans return to action next Saturday night at home against the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 pm.
