MELBOURNE, Australia – In a brace of games over the weekend, the Canberra Brave and Melbourne Mustangs tangled with mixed results.
On Saturday, the Brave got goals from three different players in a 4-2 win over the Mustangs. 
Kal Mettinen, Neal Prokop scored and Geordie Wudrick potted two goals.
The Mustangs were never able to get close to tying the game and got goals from Patrick O’Kane and James Isaacs.
Aleksi Toivonen picked up the win on 24 saves.
Chris Slauenwhite took the loss on 21 saves.
Sunday saw a different game altogether as the Mustangs used a six-goal third period to break a 1-1 tie through two periods and rout the Brave, 7-1.
Jamie Bourke had a hat trick and five points in the win and Vladim Virjassov added two goals.
Brendan McDowell had a goal and two assists for the Mustangs.
Fraser Carson got the win on 19 saves and
Aleksi Toivonen was pulled after yielding five goals. Alex Tetreault relieved him and made six saves on eight shots.
