ALLEN, Texas – The Allen Americans dropped their third straight game on Sunday, falling to the Alaska Aces 5-1 at Allen Event Center in front of 4,103 fans.
The Aces scored four, five-on-three power play goals on Sunday afternoon. The most ever given up in one game in franchise history. Tim Coffman led the way for Alaska scoring twice on the power play, while former Americans defenseman Nolan Descoteaux, scored his first of the year and chipped in an assist as the Aces swept the weekend in Texas.
“It’s frustrating,” said Americans Co Captain Gary Steffes. “We played hard today and didn’t get the results we wanted. I know this team and all the leadership we have in our room. We’ll get this figured out and start heading in the right direction.
Jake Marchment scored the only goal of the game for Allen, his second of the season. Alaska outshot the Americans 30-26 for the game and dominated the special teams going 4 for 8 on the power play.
The Americans open a four game road trip on Wednesday night in Colorado. You can watch the game at Dodies in the Village at Allen or the Franchise in Plano.
The Americans return home on November 19th against the Alaska Aces.
