PITTSBURGH – A late goal from Nick Bonino gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night. With the win, the Pens held home ice
serve and now face the Sharks again Wednesday night in Game 2 before heading off to San Jose for Games 3 and 4.
The Pens broke out on top 2-0 in the fist period of Game 1 before the Sharks made adjustments in the middle frame to tie the game.
Neither team has really faced an opponent with the level of talent displayed each has.
Martin Jones took the loss on 38 saves and Matt Murray continued his solid performance in the Pens net for the win.
