It was only 21 seconds into the game that Vanya Antonov had the Bees ahead and then a second shy of halfway through the first period Aidan Doughty scored his first of the night to double up the advantage. The first period ended with either net only being breached those two times for 2-0.
1.35 into the second period Brendon Baird raced in to fire Bees ahead by 3 with a shorthanded strike before Dan Scott scored the opener for the Raiders on the powerplay at 25.13. At 26.25 Roman Malinik wound up from the point to score a powerplay goal, then Josh Smith struck at 32.03 before Mason Webster scored the visitors’ second at 35.22 with another powerplay goal. Aidan Doughty’s second of the night concluded the second period scoring when he hammed in a powerplay goal at 38.14
Raiders swapped netminders for the third period and Bradley Windebank saved all nine shots he faced while Raiders’ captain Aaron Connolly scored the only goal of the period at 48.25 to finish the scoring 6-3.

After the weekend’s games Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented; “This was a satisfactory conclusion to our pre-season. It was a good weekend of tests against a Raiders team who’ve definitely improved over last season.
“This weekend was a good opportunity to work on lots of elements of our game and I’m happy we’re probably in the best position we could be to get into the season next weekend after another good week of training.”
