Ruch is in serious condition at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana with a bacterial brain infection.
Calling himself, “The world’s oldest Stick boy.” Ruch has assisted at Komet’s home games for numerous years setting up the visiting team’s locker room while also assisting on the Komet’s Bench during games
Ruch who is in his 40’s is married with two boys and plays goalie in a Fort Wayne area men’s league.
Over the years I have met many people who are involved in both on the ice and off the activities that make the game of hockey so great.
As a hockey photographer who has photographed many Fort Wayne games, I have had the opportunity to know Gary on a personal level and will testify to what a great guy he is and to his love of the game.
Let’s show how great we are as a hockey family and let’s help Gary and his family out.
