DENVER – The latest episode of the @PHN_PODCAST dropped this past weekend. It featured the entire band and welcomed our own Brian Jennings to the festivities to talk NHL Entry Draft.
The draft went off without a hitch, with a virtual program similar to the NFL.
Alexis Lafreniere wrnt first in the draft, as expected, to the New York Rangers. Quinton Byfield went second to the Los Angeles Kings and Tim Stuetzle was selected third by the Ottawa Senators.

The episode also features a lively discussion of free agency and the debate of where some players would land. What no one knew was the signing of Taylor Hall by the Buffalo Sabres for one year with a cap hit of $8 million.
No, that’s not Joe Bartnick making a joke. The Sabres signed Hall to be a locker room mate to Jack Eichel.
The episode also talked minor league hockey and the shut down of five teams in the Southern Professional Hockey League as a consequence to #COVID19 restrictions in some states.
This is not the last episode of whatever season this is. We will be back to debate the merits of free agency and introduce our listeners to several authors of children’s hockey books.
