PHN photo essay: Brahmas edge Allen in SO, 2-1

ALLEN, Texas – The Brahmas erased an early deficit to come back and beat the Americans in Allen 2-1 in a shootout. The Americans got on the board first, outshooting the Brahmas 12-3 in the first period and getting a score from Joshua Hepditch just before the first intermission. But the Brahmas changed the momentum in the middle frame, holding Allen to only six shots and tying the score at one goal apiece behind Brendon Hodge’s 11th goal of the season.

The third period was highlighted by tight checking and neither team willing to give an inch to the other. After a scoreless third period and overtime, the Brahmas and Americans headed to a shootout. In the shootout, Mark Guggenberger saved four of five attempts, while Phil Fox and Ross Rouleau converted to lift the Brahmas. For Rouleau, it was his second game-winner of the season.

Guggenberger made 26 saves on 27 shots to pick up his 16th victory of the season.
