PHILADELPHIA – In Parts 1 and 2 of PHN’s Mock Draft we tackled picks 1-20. Tonight, is the real deal and thankfully for the kids being drafted in such and odd year, it will begin to feel like are starting to look up. Let’s take a look at picks 21-32.
- Boston Bruins – The Bruins have a knack for picking well in the draft. This year should be no exception. The Bruins need scoring depth past their precious “perfection line”. WE see the Bruins go for offense. The Boston Bruins select from the Rimouski Oceanic, Zachary Bolduc.
- Minnesota Wild – The Wild had a good showing in the playoffs and found out they had a star among them in Kirill Kaprizov. Minnesota aim to build on what they started and go overseas to do it. The Minnesota Wild select, St. Petersburg, Russia, Nikita Chibrikov.
- Detroit Red Wings – The Red Wings already have a solid group of prospects in their system. This pick from the Washington Capitals will surely help. We see the Wings need for a pure goal scorer. The Detroit Red Wings are proud to select, Zachary L’Heureux.
- Florida Panthers – The Panthers had a great season and couldn’t get past Tampa Bay. The teams upward trend see a star in the making fall into their lap. The Florida Panthers select, forward Fedor Svechkov.
- Columbus Blue Jackets – To say that Columbus lacks offense would be an understatement. Despite the Seth Jones saga, we see offense in store for Columbus with the second of their three first round picks. The Columbus Blue Jackets select, Shawinigan of the QMJHL, Xavier Bourgault.
- Minnesota Wild – The Wild are back on the clock thanks to the Pittsburgh Penguins who have a tendency to trade away first round picks like candy. Nikita Chibrikov was the picks first choice. Ths time they stay in North America. The Minnesota Wild select, from Kamloops of the WHL, Logan Stankoven.
- Carolina Hurricanes – The Hurricanes have plenty of different ways they could go with their pick since they need everything, but since they seems to have a solid set of blueliners, we see Carolina go for offense. The Carolina Hurricanes select, from Leksands, Sweden, Isak Rosen.
- Colorado Avalanche – No lack of offense in Denver, that’s for sure. Defense will be the name of the game for the Avs. The Colorado Avalanche select, from Sioux City of the USHL, Shai Buium.
- New Jersey Devils – The Devils second selection thanks to the New York Islanders. After going for defense earlier in the round, the Devils go for offense this time around. The New Jersey Devils select from the Chicago Steel of the USHL, Mackie Samoskevich.
- Vegas Golden Knights – To says that the Golden Knights need help at the center position would be line saying when coming to Vegas you need to see a show, is a bit of an understatement. The Vegas Golden Knights are proud to select, from the Kitchener Rangers, Francesco Pinelli.
- Montreal Canadiens – Looks like the Habs won’t be with the services of Shea Weber anytime soon, if ever again. Montreal could always use some offense. The Montreal Canadiens are proud to select, the USHL, Sasha Pustujov.
- Columbus Blue Jackets – Th third of the Blue Jackets three first round picks. This time it comes courtesy of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Columbus Blue Jackets select, from Karpat, Finland, Aatu Raty.
