SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Former San Jose Sharks forward Devin Setoguchi returned to the Bay Area, and scored two goals in a 7-0 win for Ontario reign over the San Francisco Bulls, Saturday night at the Cow Palace in front of a crowd of 4,517. J.F. Berube pitched the shutout, stopping all nine Bulls shots.
Ontario jumped out to a one-goal lead in the first period as Jason Beeman scored on a goal assisted by Mario Lamoureux with 6:19 left in the first period. Ontario took a two-goal lead 22 seconds later as Setoguchi scored on a goal assisted by Matt Clune. The Bulls were out-shot in the first period 16-1. The only goal in the second period came from Beeman, as he scored to give Ontario a 3-0 lead. Kyle Kraemer and Lamoureux assisted on the goal with 7:57 left in the middle frame. Ontario scored four goals in the third period which were aided by the Bulls’ multiple trips to the penalty box. C.J. Stretch, Kraemer, Setoguchi and Colton Yellow Horn all scored in the third period to seal the win for Ontario. Despite allowing seven goals, San Jose Sharks prospect goaltender Thomas Heemskerk stood tall for the Bulls, stopping 40 shots. The shot clock favored Ontario 47-9.
