Phillips is latest to gather for Clan

GLASGOW, UK – Braehead Clan coach Bruce Richardson has made his 4th British signing of the week, signing another promising British youngster with Kevin Phillips signing on the dotted line for the Elite League expansion team.
24 year old Great Britain defenceman Kevin Phillips becomes the first international to join the Glasgow based club in its first season of operation. The Beverley, England native becomes the 4th British player following Scottish 100 point EPL player Adam Walker and promising Englishmen Matt Haywood and Sam Bullas.
Phillips’s younger brother David has just finished a breakout season with Rockford Ice Hogs in the AHL under the guidence of former Basingstoke Bison head coach Mark Bernard.
In a year the player, who played most of his junior hockey in Hull, played his way into the national team after a 15 (2+13) point season in 58 games with the playoff champion Belfast Giants.
That season with the Giants follows a 40 point season with Slough Jets in the EPL as the defensive partner of Jan Kraijeck.
The Clan are looking like an interesting proposition and will have turned heads with their first four acquisitions.
