Philadelphia Flyers Right Wing prospects for 2024 Flyers could move right wing prospects to Philly this season

PHILADELPHIA, Pa – If it is one position that the Philadelphia Flyers have plenty of depth at it is on the right side of the hockey rink despite some recent subtractions from the Flyers such as:  Cam Atkinson, Wade Allison, and Bryce Brodzinski. Zayde Wisdom was once looked at as a top prospect but no longer. Matvei Michkov is the top dog on a very long list of top prospects at right wing as in expected to be in the starting lineup in October two years earlier than expected.

On the Flyers current parent club, baring any trades, the Flyers still have Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Garnett Hathaway. That’s not a bad crop of players. Tippett has turned heads ever since he was trade to Philly from the Florida Panthers. Olle Lycksell has looked solid when he has played but the Flyers want to see the player who scored 19 goals in 38 games in Lehigh Valley.

Despite the trade rumors, Konecny had another great season. With some of the Flyers best prospects waiting in the wings such as two more players in this years draft including Noah Powell who had a 43 goals in 61 games in the USHL for Dubuque, and Russina prospect Ilya Pautov who played for CSKA Red Army in the MHL.

Without further adieu, today we look at the top five Philadelphia Flyers right-wing prospects.

Matvei Michkov – Michkov takes the throne as the Flyers #1 prospect overall. People forget that at the beginning of last season Michkov was seen as the #2 best prospect heading into the 2023 Draft but fell due to rumors he did not want to play for anyone but the Flyers. The seventh overall selection was blessing to Flyers fans who have been begging for the Flyers to draft a hight level prospect. Their patience has paid off.

Tyson Foerster – A first round pick in 2020, his NHL ready shot and scoring ability has Flyers fans begging for more. Foerster had 20 goals in 77 games for the Flyers. That was only two goals behind Connor Bedard. Foerster is a lock to graduate from our list next season.

Bobby Brink – The second-round pick in 2019 out Denver University, Brink was a highly regarded prospect coming out of college. Brink was tied for third in rookie scoring in the NHL but found himself in the Flyers management doghouse with some poor defensive play. Still, if Brink wants to stay in the lineup, he will have to have a better season. Having some solid prospects to play with will go a long way towards his development.

Samu Tuomaala – The Finish native could be with the big club in the fall despite Michkov’s presence.  Tuomaala had 26 goals in 29 games playing for two teams in Finland had a very good showing at the U18 tournament. If Tuomaala has a solid training camp it could be possible he sticks with the big club.

Denver Barkey – The second of two third round picks in 2023. Barkey had a 102-point season for the London Knights in 64 games. Everything screams first line winger with the kind of talent he display in his third season at London. He turns 20 years old in August, but will be make the jump in the AHL or finish another year at London. Either way the Flyer might have found themselves a gem
