Peters pitches shutout for Everblades

ESTERO, FL —  Anthony Peters stopped all 22 shots faced to help lift the Everblades to a 2-0 shutout victory over the South Carolina Stingrays Friday night at Germain Arena.

Florida Everblades logoAfter two scoreless periods, the Everblades grabbed the game’s first goal at 12:33 of the third period. Justin Agosta sniped in a power play goal over the left shoulder of Vitek Vanecek. Agosta scored his third goal of the season with the help from a nice pass across the ice from Kevin Lynch.

Matt Marquardt put  the finishing touches on the game with seconds remaining as he skated past the Stingrays defense putting one in on an empty net to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Stingrays outshot the Everblades in the game 22-16 but were unable to score on the stingy Florida defense.

Anthony Peters takes home his second career shutout victory stopping all 22 shots faced in the game, while Vanecek takes the loss allowing a goal on 15 shots.

The Everblades go on the road next to take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Sunday Nov. 1. Game time is set at 3:00 p.m.
