In Chicago, Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby hit for a pair of goals, and the Penguins downed the Blackhawks, 4-1 on Thursday night. 
“I’m just happy to get a win,” Crosby said . “Obviously, we could build off this. We need the points. Yeah, however we can get them.”
Alex Nedeljkovic made 27 saves in the win.
The Penguins moved to 24-20-7, snapping a three-game skid.
Crosby scored 15 seconds into the match to give the Pens a 1-0 lead off a tip in.
“It looked to me like he was trying to will it for us,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said of Crosby’s effort. “I thought he was locked in from the very first shift. He was strong on pucks all night. His line was a threat most shifts. I thought he brought his game to another level tonight.”
Reilly Smith scored off a near end to end rush to push the lead to 2-0 at 12:40.
The Blackhawks dropped to 14-37-3 off their eighth straight loss.
Chicago’s Philipp Kurashev scored the Blackhawks’ lone goal in the game at 8:22 of the middle frame to trim the deficit to 2-1.
Arvid Soderblom made 23 saves in the loss.
