Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan forward Craig Peacock says it was like being back home at Braehead Arena on Saturday.
The Clan #71, back after a year with Fife Flyers, was at the Socckey Short Launch and Season Ticket Check Your Seat event along with team-mate Jordan Buesa on Saturday.
And he says he picked up the buzz around the fanbase after the player signings were concluded on Friday night.
“I felt like coming home again,” he said. “I was there for the Masters football last week and it was strange to see a blue carpet down there instead of a sheet of ice.
“But it was nice to be chatting with the fans and really getting a feel for the excitement there is for the new season.
“There’s a lot of positivity about the team Malcolm has put together here and I’m excited to be part of it.”
Like the fans, Peacock watched the names rolling in over the course of the last few weeks as Malcolm Cameron’s team were revealed, with Nolan LaPorte the last of them on Friday night.
And the British forward, a two-time Premier Sports Elite League champion from his time with Belfast Giants, reckons there’s a lot to be positive about.
“It’s an exciting time for the club and we’ve shown some good intent with the players coming in,” he added.
“We’ve got a really good mix of guys who know the league well from their previous experiences along with new players to the UK who are hungry to prove their worth.
“I hope we might take a few teams by surprise this year and push on to try and win something.
“We’re all counting the days to get started again and it’s not too far away. I’m sure everybody is looking forward to it and hopefully it just flies by.”
