Panthers rout Stars, 7-4

In Sunrise, a five-goal second period from the Florida Panthers obliterated the Dallas Stars on Friday.

For the second straight game, Noel Acciari had a hat trick for Florida.

The Panthers handed the Stars a 7-4 loss.

“I just put pucks on net,” Acciari said. “Good things happen.”

His hat trick was a natural completed in one second short of four minutes in the middle frame.

“It’s crazy,” Jonathan Huberdeau (a goal and four points on the night) said. “It’s cool for Noel. I think our line is clicking right now. We’re being simple. We talk each other. I think we try to figure out where we are on the ice and forechecJamie Benn scking well too. Obviously, it’s a big win for us.”

Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves for the win.

Tyler Seguin struck twice for the Stars and Jamie Benn and Denis Gurianov  added single markers for the Stars.

“We’ve played a lot of good hockey for a long stretch,” Dallas’ Joe Pavelski said. “These last couple games, it’s a good league. You probably get what you deserve most nights. … Tonight, what we got was probably what we deserved. They’re a good team. We weren’t ready to go from puck drop, and we were exposed.”

Colton Sceviour, Anton Stralman and Vincent Trocheck also scored for the Panthers.

“He’s (Acciari) like the best guy in the world, so to see him score back-to-back hat tricks, it couldn’t happen to a better guy,” Trocheck said. “It was a lot of fun watching him turn into Noel Gretzky out there, so hopefully it continues.”

Ben Bishop got the start, but was given the hook after making just 14 saves on 20 shots.

“I thought we were half a step behind early,” Stars head coach Rick Bowness said. “That’s a rested team that we knew could score goals. They’re very highly skilled. They were coming at us. We just didn’t manage the game properly early. … We got what was coming to us.”

Anton Khudobin made 12 saves in his time in the shooting gallery..
