Panthers edge Senators, 3-2, in OT Lundell  scores winner in OT Update to follow

In Sunrise, the Panthers’ recent run continued with a 3-2 win in OT over the visiting Ottawa Senators, on Tuesday night. 

The Panthers coughed up a 2-0 lead in the third period when  the Senators scored twice to force the extra session.

Thomas Chabot trimmed the deficit to 2-1 for the Sens at 5:36 of the third, scoring off a shot form the left circle after collecting a loose puck in the Ottawa zone.

Tim Stutzle forced extra time when tie the game, 2-2, at 8:46, hitting for the goal after splitting the Panthers’ defense.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves in the win.

The Panthers moved to 37-15-4 off their sixth straight win.

In the opening stanza, Aaron Ekblad scored with just 19 seconds gone in the game for a 1-0 lead to the Panthers. He scored off a shot from the right face circle

Brandon Montour pushed the advantage to 2-0 when potted a marker at 17:01 of the middle frame.

The goal came after a turnover in the Ottawa zone.

The Senators dropped to 23-27-3.

The Panthers’ Anton Lundell  scored 95 seconds into the extra session for the 3-2 win.

Joonas Korpisalo made 31 saves in the loss.
