Panthers dispatch Tampa, 4-1 Tampa home streak ends in loss - Update to follow

In Tampa, the visiting Florida Panthers scored three times in the first period, and coasted to a 4-1 win over the Lightning on Tuesday night.

Eric Staal opened the scoring in the first period to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

Staal finished his night with an assist on Anthony Duclair’s firet goal of the season, into an empty net with seven seconds left on the game clock for the 4-1 final.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves in the Florida win.

The Panthers improved to 30-26-6.

Florida has won seven of its last 11 matches.

Anton Lundell extended the Panthers’ lead to 2-0 at 15:56 of the first.

Brayden Point was the lone striker for Tampa, he scored in the second period to get the Lightning on the board at 3-1.

Florida pushed it’s first period lead to 3-0 on a marker from Eetu Luostarinen  at 17:37.

Tampa dropped to 37-19-4.

The Lightning have lost five of their last seven contests.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 37 saves in the Tampa loss.
