Osman seeks home comforts

American defenceman Dominic Osman has backed Rapid Solicitors Hull Stingrays to find that winning feeling again at Hull Arena.

Stingrays have picked up eight points from their last six away games but only four have been attained during the same sequence at home.

Four of those games have ended in one-goal losses, including one in overtime and Sunday’s shoot-out defeat to Fife Flyers. Hull Stingrays logo

Next up is a visit from Rapid Solicitors Elite League title-chasing Nottingham Panthers on Sunday (6pm face-off).

Osman, 33, said: “We are very happy with our road game but at the same time you always want to be picking up points at home.

“Any team can win on any given night and we have had a lot of close games this season, we just need to find that consistency.

“We had a lot of chances against Fife, myself included, and we just need to learn to put teams away. It was very frustrating.

“But we just need to bear down at home because with the one game at home in the play-offs you need to be prepared for that.

“Against Nottingham we just need to play our game. We need to sharpen up around our own net and in our defensive zone and that is something we have been working on this week.

“Our powerplay has been better and if we can improve on all those things then we have enough offensive power to hurt teams.”
