CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Stars were defeated by Oklahoma City 3-2 in front of 4,878 fans at Cedar Park Center on Saturday night. Oklahoma City goalie Yann Danis (12-4-0) stopped 27 of 29 Texas shots as the Barons improved to 11-3-0-0 on the road. Forwards Tanner House and Tristan Grant scored for the Barons, while defenseman Taylor Chorney netted the game-winning goal. Center Scott Glennie and left wing Matt Fraser both scored in the third period to bring Texas within a goal. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany (3-6-0) stopped 16 of 19 shots, as the Stars fell to 4-7-0-1 at home.
Oklahoma City took a 1-0 lead late in the first period. Center Tanner House scored with 3:26 remaining as defenseman Alex Plante and left wing Hunter Tremblay each assisted on the play. House’s fourth goal of the season came off a rebound of a Tremblay shot.
The Barons nabbed a 2-0 lead at 6:00 of the second period. Left wing Tristan Grant beat Beskorowany off a breakaway. Defenseman Ryan Lowery helped set up Grant’s fifth goal of the year. Texas scored its first goal of the night at 4:16 of the third period. Center Scott Glennie fired a shot past Danis, cutting Oklahoma City’s lead to 2-1. Left wing Francis Wathier and defenseman Dan Spang each registered an assist on Glennie’s third goal of the season. The Barons strengthened their lead to 3-1 at 11:28. Defenseman Taylor Chorney notched his first goal of the season on the power play. Defenseman Bryan Helmer added the assist. The Stars dug into the Barons’ lead again with 1:44 remaining in the final frame. Left wing Matt Fraser pulled Texas to within a goal at 3-2, as he scored his 12th goal of the year. Center Travis Morin and Spang each provided an assist.
Texas will travel to Oklahoma City on Tuesday, December 13th at 7:00 p.m. The Stars will then visit the Houston Aeros on Friday, December 16th for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff. Texas returns home on Saturday, December 17th at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Rochester Americans
