In Anaheim, Mike Smith made 31 saves and the Edmonton Oilers cruised to a 6-1 win over the Ducks on Sunday night.
Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid continued their torrid streaks with goals.
“We talked about playing a full 60 (minutes) tonight, and I think that’s as close as we’ve been to doing it this year,” Smith said. “It feels good to get the lead, then keep pushing and kind of put them out of their misery a little bit there.”
Zach Aston-Reese was the lone goal scorer for the Ducks.
“For me, there are three top players in the game and then there’s a big separation,” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. “[The Oilers] have two of them.”
Tyson Barrie, McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Jesse Puljujarvi scored to give the Oilers a 4-0 lead into the middle frame.
“(Ducks forward) Gerry (Mayhew) stepped on my stick before going out for the third, and my tape job got cut in half,” Aston-Reese said. “I was actually trying to go high glove and the puck just went five-hole. I can thank Gerry for that one.”
Brett Kulak made it 5-1 in the third period and Draisaitl added a late marker for the 6-1 final.
John Gibson made 40 saves in the Ducks loss.
