In Sunrise, a three-goal third period from the Edmonton Oilers sent them to a 4-1 win over the Panthers on Saturday night.
Mikko Koskinen made 33 saves to get the win.
Adam Larsson had a goal for the Oilers, his first in a year.
Leon Draisaitl scored his 33rd of the season to extend his NHL scoring lead this campaign.
“He’s confident,” Larsson said. “He’s extremely good defensively too. He has that and he’s showing it lately. I think he is probably one of the best two-way players when he’s on his game.”
Jonathan Huberdeau scored the lone goal for the Panthers who have been woeful since the All-Star break at 2-6-1.
“We certainly lost all gravy going into the break and now we’re chasing it,” Florida head coach Joel Quenneville said. “There’s still an opportunity — a real good one — in front of us. Coming up with a game like today with going five on the road was certainly not the way you wanted to show how much we want to get in that fight.”
Darnell Nurse and Tyler Yamamoto scored empty net goals to close out the scoring.

Sam Montembeault made 25 saves in the loss.
“We didn’t generate much,” Quenneville said. “We’re sometimes looking for a better play when just shooting the puck on the net could have generated something or the net presence or getting inside a little more. We didn’t generate enough. We didn’t have enough guys going. We didn’t have the possession game enough and too easy to play against.”
