In Edmonton, the Philadelphia Flyers the Oilers and ended up seeing six different skaters score in a 6-3 loss Thursday.
Connor McDavid now has 66 points on the season after a goal and three points in the win.
“It’s a good two points for us,” McDavid said. “It was a big game for both teams, and we found a way to get the win. It helps a lot.”
It seemed like everyone got in on the action Thursday with Matt Hendricks, Leon Draisaitl, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Oscar Klefbom all scoring goals.
The Oilers improved to 31-19-8 with the win.
The Flyers were unable to get much going as the Oilers rolled their offense.
Radko Gudas, Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn were the Flyers’ goal scorers.
Philadelphia dropped back to 27-24-7 with the loss and failed to make a dent on the deficit in the wild card race.
“I made the decision to go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards tonight, and the one risk that you run is exactly what happened tonight,” Philadelphia coach Dave Hakstol said. “We lost Jordan in the second half of the first period, and that puts our forwards in a hard situation and they battled awful hard through it.”
Jordan Weal left the game with an injury leaving the Flyers with 10 forwards.

Michal Neuvirth made 19 saves in the loss.
“It’s fun to put the puck in the net, it gives you confidence,” Eberle said. “You can get so many chances, and that is a good thing because it means it is coming, but when you finally put it in, it is nice.”
Cam Talbot made 33 stops in picking up his 29th win of the season.
“I thought the guys did a good job, we battled hard, and obviously, we didn’t get the outcome that we wanted,” Simmonds said. ” We kept going and going and pushing, and we didn’t give up. Obviously, it’s not much consolation we didn’t get the two points. We have to start over and figure things out again for [the next game].”
