WASHINGTON DC – It was like a broken record as the Winnipeg Jets continued with the same game as they dig themselves a hole and then battle back only to come up short. This time they ended up with a point as they were the victims of possibly a missed call in overtime as they were assessed a too many men penalty and were burnt by the great 8 Alex Ovechkin who ripped home the winner and his second of the night to give the Capitals a 4-3 win and their fourth straight victory.

The Jets continue to find ways to lose games as they found themselves down 3-0 before battling back with a three-goal third period and a very gritty effort to secure a point .

Michael Hutchinson was in the net for Winnipeg and he stopped 28 shotsand falls to 2-3-1 on the season.

The Jets almost completed the third period comeback as rookie Kyle Connor rang a laser off the post with under two minutes to go in the game.

Jets got goals from Toby Enstrom his first of the year a shorthanded marker , Adam Lowry notched his second and AHL call up Marko Dano chipped in his first of the season.

The injury bug continued as both Joel Armia and Mathieu Perreault left the game in the third period and their status for Friday’s game will be determined as soon as possible.

Braden Holtby stopped 24 shots in the Capitals net to get the win.

The Jets dominated the first period but came away down as they just seem to be snake bitten at  wrong times. They also have a trend of having bad second periods and that needs to be fixed.

The Jets will head to Detroit to face the Red Wings on Friday night at the Joe.

The Jets will possibly have two more fresh faces in the line up as well with more injuries
