Nottingham host Stars on Wednesday

In Wednesday night’s other game, Nottingham Panthers host Dundee Stars in league action.

It promises to be a slightly unusual evening for the Panthers. On one hand, they will be keeping an eye on events in Belfast to discover who they will face in the Challenge Cup Final. On the other, they have important league business of their own, with the opportunity to move into second place and cut the gap to leaders the Giants to eight points with a win over the Stars.

Dundee arrive in Nottingham 20 points outside a playoff position with only 12 games remaining to make up the deficit on Glasgow Clan. The loss to Clan last weekend may have dealt a significant blow to their postseason hopes. However, mathematically they remain in contention and must continue collecting points to keep the pressure on those above them.

Johnny Curran returns to Nottingham with the Stars after having iced for the Panthers earlier this season.
