UNITED KINGDOM – Solway Sharks extended their lead at the top of NIHL North Moralee D1 with a comfortable victory over Blackburn Hawks on Saturday.
Struan Tonnar (3) and Iain Bowie (2) topped the scoring for the Sharks as they opened up a six-point advantage over Whitley Warriors.
The Hawks bounced back from their defeat in Dumfries with an 8-7 overtime home victory over Solihull Barons – Jacob Lutwyche bagged the winner.
Vlads Vulkanovs weighed in with a hat-trick as Widnes Wild ran out 7-2 winners at home to Nottingham Lions.
Whitley triumphed 4-1 at Billingham Stars in a dead-rubber group game in the NIHL Moralee Cup (North).
Filip Supa (2), Thomas Byrne (2) and Brandon Anderton (2) were amongst the scorers for Telford Tigers 2 in their 8-1 win at Nottingham Lions 2 in Laidler D2,
Bradford Bulldogs booked their place in the semi-finals of the NIHL Laidler Cup with a 5-3 home win over Hull Jets – Josh Stockton (2) led the scoring.
The Jets ended their group fixtures with a 4-3 win on home ice against Sheffield Titans – Kieran Beach netted a hat-trick for the east coast side.
Aberdeen Lynx maintained their unbeaten record in the Scottish National League (SNL) with an 8-5 home victory over Belfast SNL Giants.
Jordan Leyden (2), James DeMeo (2) and Jack Durkacz (2) topped the scoring for Lynx as they moved four points clear at the top of the SNL.
Chad Smith (2) and Grant Jamieson (2) led the scoring for Kirkcaldy Kestrels in their 8-6 victory at Kilmarnock Thunder.
Adam Walker’s goal midway through the third period secured a 3-2 win for Paisley Pirates at North Ayrshire Wild.
