Northern UK round-up: Sharks edge past the Warriors, Walker steals the points for Wild

UNITED KINGDOM – Solway Sharks maintained their unbeaten start to the NIHL North season with a 3-2 home victory over Whitley Warriors.

Iain Bowie, Callum Boyd and Kieran Hair were on target for the Sharks as they cemented their place at the top of Moralee D1.

The Warriors bounced back the following evening with a 9-3 home win against Nottingham Lions – Phil Edgar (2) and Callum Watson (2) topped their scoring.

Craig Elliott and Thomas Palmer both bagged a brace as Sheffield Scimitars ran out 4-1 winners at home to Billingham Stars.

The Stars were also out of luck the following evening as Mikey Gilbert’s late goal sealed a 4-3 win for Widnes Wild at Billingham Forum.

Wild were outshot 47-34 by the Teesside outfit, but netminder Harrison Walker produced a sensational performance to steal the points for the visitors.

CJ Ashton, Ollie Bayne and Billy King were on target as Altrincham Aces ran out 3-0 winners at Nottingham Lions 2 in Laidler D2.

Josh Reynolds bagged the deciding goal for Bradford Bulldogs in their 3-2 shoot-out victory at Sheffield Titans in the Laidler Cup (North).
